INTRODUCTION

Montessori pupil showing art work We are a welcoming, approachable and caring nursery school.

We are proud and dedicated to bringing out the best and full potential in every individual child. We achieve this through our Montessori approach providing a warm, friendly, secure and stimulating environment for the children in our care. The school prides itself on its happy, homely and stimulating atmosphere.

The children are guided in their learning and development and are free to work at their own pace. In this way the children learn to discipline themselves without interference. Consequently they become more independent and build on self-esteem and confidence.

The Montessori Approach has been tried and tested worldwide for over 100 years. Maria Montessori's legacy is growing all the time and there to stay. We are proud to practise this unique approach and foster the child's development.

Pre-school years are important formative years. We use the Montessori curriculum which is holistic. It is at the heart of everything we do and is delivered in conjunction with the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage Document. It is planned to provide for all areas of a child's learning and development. Barnes Montessori Nursery is a wonderful place for children to grow and develop.

We believe in mutual respect and in encouraging friendly and considerate manners towards all other children and adults.

We hope their experience with us, as individuals, will benefit them for the rest of their lives, as we are heartened to know it has helped hundreds of children in the past.
